Every conversation about AI in defense begins with the same question: who is in control? PLUTO's answer is structural. Human authority is not a guideline the AI is asked to follow. It is a property of the system's architecture that the AI cannot route around.
The One Write Path
Intelligence in PLUTO reads far more than it writes. Agents can traverse the entire World Graph, full context, full history, but they hold no connection to any aircraft and possess exactly one way to affect the world: submitting a Proposal for human review.
This constraint is enforced at the database permission layer and through a single endpoint write gate. There is no second path to discover, no privilege to escalate. Even mounting a new AI specialist onto the platform is itself a proposal a human approves.
Validation & Rehearsal
Before any proposal reaches an operator's approve button, it passes a deterministic validator, the same rule engine that has guarded PLUTO's missions from day one, and a 3D rehearsal the operator watches, so what is being approved is seen, not imagined.
Approval is not the last line of defense either. The aircraft's onboard system independently re-validates every command it receives, and contains zero AI in its control path. A model can be wrong; the cage around it is arithmetic.
We test this adversarially, including prompt injection attempts through the perception pipeline itself. Structured outputs and a suggestion only write path mean a hostile input can, at worst, produce a proposal a human reads and denies.
Audit & Data Sovereignty
Every proposal, every validator decision, every operator approval or denial, and every mission debrief is preserved. The result is a complete, replayable account of what the system suggested, why, and what the human decided, the audit trail defense procurement actually asks for.
Your operational data stays yours. PLUTO's architecture keeps mission critical reasoning and records within your deployment, and the platform is built by an Indian team, in India, for the requirements of Indian operators.
