project pluto

uav aerial system with ai co-pilot

overview

project pluto is an ai co-pilot for drones that helps soldiers fly smarter missions without the tech headache. built for defence applications, it transforms complex drone operations into simple voice commands.

key features

  • voice commands: talk to your drone naturally - "scan this area", "fly to that hill"
  • ai path planning: automatic coverage path generation for surveillance missions
  • waypoint generation: instant waypoint creation from natural language
  • ardupilot integration: works with existing ardupilot systems
  • simulation support: test in gazebo before real-world deployment

how it works

in pluto, you can literally talk to the drone. the ai processes your natural language commands and translates them into precise flight instructions.

example commands

  • "scan this area" → builds an optimal coverage path
  • "take off and fly to that hill" → creates instant waypoints
  • "return to base" → executes safe return sequence
  • "hover and observe" → maintains position for surveillance

technical specifications

  • platform: ardupilot (px4 support coming soon)
  • interface: web-based dashboard with mobile support
  • ai model: custom trained for drone operations
  • communication: mavlink protocol
  • simulation: gazebo integration for testing

current status

the backend is solid and functional. the ui is still in development (we're backend developers at heart).

what's next

  • efficient output optimization
  • offline ai models for field operations
  • advanced object detection capabilities
  • fpv drone integration
  • enhanced voice recognition
